The University of North Carolina was one of the first colleges in the country to start FCA. In the late 1950s, a pair of brothers from New York City chose to play college basketball at UNC under Frank McGuire. Danny and John Lotz were instrumental in starting FCA not only at UNC but also in the state of North Carolina. Over the past 65 years, countless coaches and athletes have been part of the FCA ministry.

In 2017, a unique partnership began between Athletes in Action (AIA) and FCA. Seven years later, the partnership is thriving, thanks to the realization that AIA and FCA are simply better together.

"Walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,  making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit — just as you were called to one hope at your calling — one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all." ~Ephesians 4:1-6
